2024 - A year in summary

It is time to say good-bye to 2024 in what was a quieter year of weather and geological events for upper North Island compared to the extremes of 2023. The main event for 2024 was undoubtedly Space weather with the strongest solar storm to hit earth in 2 decades occurring on 11th May. The Aurora Australis was vividly seen right across the upper North Island with large scale technology disruptions across the globe.
