A rare 'Fire Rainbow' over Auckland

Writer's picture: EarthlingEarthling

A rare 'Circumhorizontal arc' or otherwise known as a 'Fire Rainbow' has been spotted above Auckland this afternoon. This natural phenomena will only occur above the Upper North Island from September to March, when the sun is high enough in the sky and with high cirrus clouds present.
