Fallstreak hole formed over upper North Island

The rare 'Fallstreak hole' formation appeared in a group of cirrocumulus clouds this week over the upper North Island . It was caused by a domino effect of fast evaporating water droplets through a sequence of events explained by the Wegener–Bergeron–Findeisen process.
