Funnel cloud above Rangitoto

A nice 'fair weather funnel cloud' appeared last night over the Gulf around Rangitoto. The harmless rotating vortex developed at the base of a small cumulus cloud and was captured by our live weather webcam at 6:45pm. Unlike severe weather funnel clouds, the rotating vortex is very weak and normally dissipates shortly after forming.
