Small M1.6 Hunua Ranges earthquake overnight

Interesting little earthquake overnight in Hunua Ranges within the Auckland Volcanic field. GeoNet pinpointed the magnitude 1.6 quake on the junction of the Wairoa North Fault and the Wairoa South Fault at a depth of 5km. The nearest past recorded quake in this location was a M2.0 on 23 November 1977.
