Upper North Island records its coolest March for 12 years

The early arrival of the polar jet stream has given the upper North Island the coolest March since 2012. Our climate station only started recording in 2018, which made it the coolest March we have recorded but another reliable station in Howick east Auckland shows it was the coolest March since 2012 when its daily temperature also averaged 17.2°c.
